Tai Chi Qigong

The Tai Chi Qigong group has had a successful first term at St Roberts and will be continuing every week starting Thursday 12th January in the York room, 2.00 to 3.15 pm.   The class is suitable for all abilities and beginners are always welcome.

The new year is an ideal time to start this gentle and enjoyable form of exercise.  The ancient Chinese art of Qigong builds  internal energy using a combination of physical postures and movement, breathing techniques, relaxation and focusing the mind to bring about beneficial changes to your general health and a lift to your spirits.

The class is run on a pay as you go basis (£6/session) so  you don’t have to commit to come every week, although hopefully you will find, like many others, you will want to come regularly because you are noticing how much better you feel!

The health benefits are many, here are some of them:

  • Improved joint and muscle flexibility and strength
  • Increased energy and stamina
  • Improved posture, balance and co-ordination
  • Builds greater resistance to disease and ailments
  • Reduces stress and calms the mind
